What next for Brown?

Ten years waiting in the wings might have affected Gordon Brown in one of two ways: disillusion and the dissipation of all the energy he has put intorunning the economy, or refinement of his considerable talent. Now that it is released, all that talent may be about to show itself in a measured programme of reform.

Ten years on, everyone remembers one thing about Brown, that he relinquished the power to set interest rates to the Bank of England. Since becoming Prime Minister he has already told us that he doesn't want to appoint bishops, that he will announce his legislative programme in time for it to be properly considered. We have learned so far that he will be guided by common sense and moral scruple. That, and the fact we know he can do his sums, is good for business.

But the job is still 'collegiate' and this month I have looked at some of the people he has chosen for key economics and trade positions. What changes would you like to see him make? We would particularly like to hear from innovators and entrepreneurs - do you agree with my interviewee Alastair Lukies that the UK's attitude and bureaucracy is holding back our brightest talent, and if so, what would you like to see Brown doing about it?
