United Drug looks for double-digit profit growth

Irish healthcare services company United Drug plc said on Tuesday, August 12, that it expects to deliver profit growth in 2008.

"For the year to 30 September 2008 the group expects to deliver another period of double-digit profit and earnings growth, despite the fall in the value of sterling affecting the translation of profits," United Drug said in a trading statement.

The group said that it continued to experience good trading conditions in its third quarter.

It said that and that for the nine months to 30 June 2008, “overall group performance is well ahead of the corresponding period in the prior year, in line with the group’s expectations.”
