Pfizer to build UK stem cell centre

Pfizer Inc, the world’s largest drug company has announced plans to spend up to US$60 million (£41 million) on a research centre in Cambridge.
The centre, part of the programme called Pfizer Regenerative Medicine, will focus on brain and sensory disorders. It will be located at Granta Science Park and will house about 40 researchers.
“This is a huge vote of confidence for UK stem cell science,” said Chris Mason, Professor of regenerative medicine at University College London.
Pfizer also plans to set up a similar facility in Massachusetts, which will employ 30 scientists.
