DHL launches risk reduction services

DHL unit DHL Exel Supply Chain has launched a complete training solution for the logistics sector.

The courses aim to improve DHL’s health and safety records and reduce the company’s costs.

The course were initially developed for DHL’s own Patient Transport Services business and have been adjusted to include over 30 modules.

These include sessions on first aid, manual handling, fire safety and better driving techniques.

John Regan, Senior Contract Manager of DHL Exel Supply Chain, said that the business plans to roll the programme out across a number of sectors.

“In the longer term, we are even looking to export this style of service provision to other countries, via our strong international DHL network,” he said.

DHL’s Training Solutions has already successfully trained staff members at the Hospital Logistics Center, in Park Royal Hospital, London.

The company is currently working with the Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce to offer training to its network of members.
