Ark Therapeutics H1 loss narrows

Ark Therapeutics Group plc has reported a loss after tax of £9.17 million or four pence per share for the six months ended 30 June 2008.

In the first half of 2007, the specialist health company reported a loss after tax of £10.21 million or six pence per share.

Pre-tax loss was £10.09 million, narrower than £11.26 million in the prior-year period.

Sales were up 68 percent compared with last year while R&D spend was £8.2 million from £7.8 million.

Dr Nigel Parker, Chief Executive of Ark, said that the first half of 2008 has seen Ark continue to make solid progress across all the main areas of the business.

"We look forward to continuing our progress in the second half of the year giving clinical and regulatory updates on our lead products and updates on our commercialisation and pre-clinical development activities," he added.
